World Citizen Government Defined

What is World Citizen Government?

The World Citizen Government (WCG) is the political representation of each citizen of the world and of humanity. WCG’s purpose is to provide a global political service institution for the creation and preservation of world peace. WCG was founded by Garry Davis on September 4, 1953 in Ellsworth, Maine.

The World Citizen Government (WCG) is founded on three principles or World Laws: One Spirit; One World; One Humankind.

The government’s operations are grounded in the science of geo-dialectics: the dynamic relationship between the one and the many. As human beings, the individual represents the “one” and humanity represents the “many.” Despite minimal differences, humans are intrinsically linked. From this basic premise derives notions such as sovereignty, human rights, and social justice as well as wellbeing and peace.

Thus “the geo-dialectical method consists of clearly recognizing the two counterparts which belong together in any given situation or problem to be eased or resolved in human affairs…” (Memorandum on World Government by Nataraja Guru).

“The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government,” Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 21(3), sanctions the legal expression of individual will as the basis of government.
